Product Description
Four years have passed since Evvy left the streets of Chammur to begin her training as a stone mage. At fourteen, she’s unhappy to be on a new journey with her mentor, prickly green mage Rosethorn, who has been called to the Battle Islands to determine why the plants and animals there are dying. Evvy’s job is to listen and learn, but she can’t keep quiet and do nothing. With the help of Luvo, the living stone heart of a mountain, Evvy uncovers an important clue. Now, with the island on the brink of disaster, it’s up to Evvy to avert the destruction that looms ahead.

I rented this audiobook from the library. It certainly wasn’t worth the money they spent, and I’m glad I didn’t buy it. I only got through the first 2 CDs. It was just so boring: the characters, the dialogue, the plot, everything. Very disappointing. I think I’ll listen to my Harry Potter audiobooks again. Much more enjoyable.

I have been a big Peirce fan since I found her “Protector of the Small” quartet last year. When I realized that she’d published an audio book before a print novel, I was intrigued.n

Melting Stones is a wonderful story about a girl who must decide in which world she will live. After all, when you think like a stone, it makes it very difficult to act as a human does. Through out the tale, the actors bring the story to life. Its like the old radio programs with verbal action, imaginary adventure and hours of good, clean entertainment.n

If you enjoyed the Circle of Magic Series, then this book is the next book to complete your collection.

I’ve only recently developed a fondness for audio books, when my mom pointed out to me that I could listen to an audio book rather than reading in the car for long car trips. The only problem with FullCast audio’s books is that I can’t wait for a long car ride to listen to them! I love the degree of talent brought to the recording, and how every character has a different voice - not to mention the music and sound effects which deepen the effects.n

This audio book is even more amazing as Tamora Pierce wrote the text of the books specifically for the voice actors, particularly the actress who plays Evvie, the narrator and central character. I loved listening to every moment of this recording, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see the potential of audiobooks!

I purchased this book recently from amazon. I love Tamora Pierce’s books. This one is no exception. She has a way with language that draws you in and makes you unable to stop reading, or in this case, listening. However, you’re probably wondering why I gave the book 3 stars. When I received the audiobook, I inserted the disc into my computer and found that half the discs were misnamed. It took quite some time to fix. I am unhappy that I had to do so. I think it would have been easier to download this from iTunes, but I really wanted the CDs. Make your choice. Otherwise, great book. The cast chosen is perfect. The story is unique and interesting. I can’t wait for the hardcover printed book.

I have just completed reading Ms. Pierce’s latest. What a disappointment! I slogged through this tedious book; the characters had few redeeming qualities and the dialog was ugly and awkward! I have no idea how it was as an audio book but it did NOT work as a real book.n

I am a diehard fan…I have read every book Ms. Pierce has written and this is the first book I didn’t enjoy… there were a few I really loved. Wait for the paperback if you must read this.
