Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

Catching Fire (The Second Book of the Hunger Games) has been rated 4 starsPleased with this Sophomore book

I was pleasantly pleased with the quality of this book’s story after furiously turning pages through the Hunger Games. It didn’t captivate me as much as HG, but it is a definite page turned. I will be waiting patiently for the last book in this trilogy.

Catching Fire (The Second Book of the Hunger Games) has been rated 5 starsYes, it’s about the hunger games again….

This is a wonderful continuation. I know some people are complaining that it is about the hunger games again. But think about it…in the world that the author created, the hunger games are annual. It is inevitable that there is going to be another hunger games. But Suzanne Collins has found a clever way to incorporate Katniss into it again. It is NOT the same and a lot of events occur before the games even begin. The games are very different this time around and even more heart wrenching than the first. The author is very very good at creating these twisted games and she has definitely outdone herself in the second book. Give it a chance. If you enjoyed the first book and are really excited to find out what happens, then I suggest definitely reading this book. It is hard to put down! This is by far one of my favorite series and I intend to stick with it until the last word of the final book.

Catching Fire (The Second Book of the Hunger Games) has been rated 3 starsNot nearly as good as the first book.

I was excited to read this follow-up to the fantastic “Hunger Games,” but, alas, this book is a little disjointed and awkward, with an annoying cliffhanger ending. Hopefully the next book will make up for this mistep.

Catching Fire (The Second Book of the Hunger Games) has been rated 5 starsA sequel worthy of the first!

In this second installment of the Hunger Games trilogy, Katniss is faced with the repercussions of her choices in the arena. Exciting, thrilling, and emotional, this sequel is every bit as good as the first, and will have you begging for the third.
